This course is aimed at photographers wishing to become better acquainted with their cameras and lenses. What DO those numbers mean?

By the end of the session:

  • You will have a basic understanding of the most important settings on your camera.

  • You’ll be able to freeze or blur motion,

  • You’ll understand Depth of Field and how to achieve narrow Depth of Field or maximum focus through either lens choice or aperture settings.

  • You’ll be more comfortable with your camera and know what to look for when buying equipment.


Who is this workshop suited to?

It’s designed for beginners and owners of new or new-to-them cameras.

Minimum requirements

Your camera, its lenses, and the camera manual, either printed or accessible electronically.

You will gain the most out of this class if you read through your manual before class and come armed with questions. Ensure that you have one or two memory cards as well as a fully charged battery. It won’t hurt to bring your charger or a spare battery. 

A tripod.

A laptop for downloading and viewing your images.
